How Does the Math Actually Work? (Examples)

To show you how this tool handles tricky calendar math, let's look at a practical example.

Example: Calculating Age Across Leap Years
Let's say a person was born on a leap day: February 29, 2000. They want to calculate their age on March 1, 2026.

• First, the tool calculates the year difference: 2026 minus 2000 equals 26 years.
• Then, it looks at the months. Since 2026 is not a leap year, February only has 28 days. The tool's algorithm handles this seamlessly by completing the full month of February and adding that 1 remaining day into March.
• The final result outputs perfectly as 26 Years, 0 Months, and 1 Day, with a total elapsed lifespan of exactly 9,497 days (which accounts for all the extra leap days they lived through).
